Why My Puppy Bites

Many people try to find solutions to problems without even knowing what causes the problem. Dog owners are no different; they try to stop their puppies from biting without the knowledge of why the puppy is biting. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction Isaac Newtons third law of motion. Everything happens for a purpose and a reason and dog biting is no exception. Puppies will bite and if you keep a close eye on your new pet you can learn why they bite.

The most common cause of puppy biting is the result of teething. Puppies will teeth between 4 to 6 months with a maximum age of 10 months. It is a very painful stage for young pups so they bite to sooth their gums around their new teeth. Their jaws are also weak which limits the amount of force needed to bite so they compensate by gnawing. So with a combination of a weak jaw and sharp needle point teeth the developing puppy will inflict numerous play bites as a feedback mechanism to determine the force of their bites which will also strengthen their jaws as they grow.

The more opportunities your puppy has to play bite with other people, dogs, and other animals the greater the chance your dog will bite as an adult. The responsibility of teaching bite inhibition lays with you the owner.

Another very important factor is socialization. A lack of socialization with puppies between the age of 3 weeks to 3 months with people and other dogs can lead to growling and ultimately biting, Apart from teething and socialization, be aware that puppies explore objects in their environment, they not like us they have paws and not hands so they use their mouths to do their exploration.

As a responsible dog owner do not tolerate aggressive behavior from either a puppy or an adult dog. Also never lose sight in the fact that dogs do what they feel is correct no matter what the situation. In order to avoid biting and behavior problems it is best to prevent them from forming.

Return Of The Monster

The Monster of the title is none other than Dollar Monster. Anyone who had dealings with Dollar Monster previously believed the beast had been slain by its owners but, it seems, it had just been banished and now is baaaaaaaaaack (as it says in its ads). Presumably the owners of Dollar Monster believe they have remained out of sight long enough for people to have forgiven or forgotten the events of 2004.

Dollar Monster pretends to be a friendly little monster who will help you to make money. It says: "DollarMonster's #1 priority is helping you make money!" In fact, its clear from the website that Dollar Monster will make the money for you and you can just sit back in your easy chair and do nothing. Dollar Monster claims to be the lazy person's way of making money; that should be a big enough hint that this program does not offer a legitimate way to make money.

Dollar Monster is a money doubler. Money Doubler programs enjoyed a brief spell of popularity back in 2004. Their popularity ended as one money doubler program after another closed owing members large sums of money and the whole money doubler industry was exposed as being a scam consisting of numerous pyramid schemes. The surprising thing is that the new Dollar Monster website refers to 2004 and to the notorious Easy Chair Club (sometimes described as the biggest Internet scam in recent history). It would seem more sensible for this site to pretend to have no connection whatsoever with the Easy Chair Club or the Dollar Monster that existed in 2004. In fact, it would seem more sensible to open up using an entirely different name because the people who joined Dollar Monster (or its sister site, My Magic Doubler) the first time round aren't going to be sucked in again and will warn people not to take part in the program.

The way money doublers work is that you pay money to the program, other people sign up after you and also pay money in. When enough has been paid in by new members, you get paid double the amount you first invested. The people whose money was used to pay you, get paid when members have paid enough cash in after them and so on

When money doubler programs are first launched, the cycle time is very short (it can be a matter of hours) but as more people join the cycle time gets longer because the number of new members required to cycle existing member positions grows exponentially. Eventually, the cycle time becomes so long the program ceases to attract new members and, when the cash injections dry up, the doubler stalls. With no new recruits bringing in cash, the members on the lowest level don't get double their money back, they lose all the money they paid in. At this point, the program and its owner normally disappear.

Money Doubler programs can survive for anything from a matter of hours up to several months. The ones that disappear within hours are normally run by outright crooks who had no intention of paying any money out to anyone. As soon as they have obtained a substantial sum of cash, they just vanish with it. If you are lucky you might avoid these particular crooks and might even make some money. One thing that is guaranteed is that if you aren't lucky enough to join at the right time, you will lose your money.

I hope the return of Dollar Monster does not signal the start of a new money doubler craze. People who were not around in 2004 might take to money doublers as a replacement for the rapidly declining autosurf for cash programs. In 2004 I fell for the story that money doublers were legitimate programs and the money they paid out came from advertising revenue. I speak from experience when I say that if you want to make money on the Internet, you have to work for it. Dollar Monster and similar money doubler programs are not an alternative to working for a living.

Do You Want a Guarantee That You Will Make Money Online?

What are you waiting for? Grab a pen.

Be prepared to take some notes and put your reading glasses on so you can read between the lines. I dont want this to be oversimplified but all you really need is commitment and a system to get you there.

That is oversimplified, isnt it? Your bottom jaw probably dropped on that last statement. First, lets take care of commitment. Without this, nothing else matters. If you dont have a commitment or do not desire to develop one, you will be as effective if you unplugged your computer. (You could save money this way also.) Commitment is something you develop. Most people trying to develop an online business are looking for something for nothing. They dont want to pay for memberships, tools or marketing costs. But, the most important part is they dont want to change who they are to become a successful business person.

Commitment is more than attending conference calls. Commitment is more than setting up an autoresponder. Commitment is more than talking to your neighbor about your business this week. Commitment is reading books by Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie and Og Mandino. Commitment is learning something new and applying it in your business. Commitment is learning the marketing system that you are using with your business and applying it in your business. Commitment is pushing yourself when you get frustrated, want to quit, or want to watch TV on your business time.

We can write this entire article on Commitment but we need to move on to the main event.

THE SYSTEM

Obviously without Commitment, nothing else matters. But, without a functioning SYSTEM, even the best intentions of Commitment will not be of any value.

We are really stressing a System as opposed to throwing undefined efforts of a marketing campaign at your internet business. Just for the sake of acknowledgement, there are quite a number of very successful individuals that do not use a system. They may use one or more marketing procedures and they do all right. Unfortunately for the majority of network marketers, we just do not have deep pockets that we can spend on these marketing programs. Some marketing programs may cost thousands of dollars before you break even and start making a profit. This is fine for someone selling a product through an online business using direct sales. This is not the best procedure or marketing plan for someone that is using internet marketing to build a network marketing business with.

There are a lot of systems out there but lets get specific. I learned a system years ago but the person that first shared this with me was doing direct sells for his internet business. He was an internet marketer that wasnt interested in building a sales organization. Recently, I ran across this system (adapted for network marketing) that was being used not only to build a sales organization but further designed to make it profitable for the participants at a faster rate. For the newbie network marketer, this is crucial.

The curtain is drawn and out on the stage walks the new network marketer. He/she is ready to make money online. They tried the offline network marketing businesses, they bothered their family and friends and subsequently joined the NFL club (No Friends Left). Now, they are reaching out for the last hope, the opportunity to make up that $300 deficit in their monthly budget, the chance that mom could stay home with Junior that is having difficulty in school.

The dreams are there! Only to be dashed against the cyber wall on INTERNET MARKETINGS GIGANTIC FAILURE RATE!

Is this fair? Of course not. As a reader of this article, is it your goal to throw those dreams away? Do you have COMMITMENT? If you have Commitment, the system is there.

What is the SYSTEM? What I was taught years ago was to concentrate your advertising to focus on a low cost product. The purpose of this is the build your list. List building is one of the most important activities you can do. Your low cost product is not designed to make you money but to cut the cost of building your list. Once you build your list, then you can sell other higher cost products to this list. You already spent the money necessary to obtain your customers on this list. Now you have customers that cost you little to no money to maintain.

The System that Im talking about as it pertains to network marketing is: the Funded Sponsoring Franchise System. In this System, you have a free system that provides the structure and the training for the individual business owner. The new marketer can join for free and look around. If he/she decides to participate with the System, they can participate fully or partially. It is their preference. (They have to ultimately determine their own level of Commitment.) The overall purpose of the system is to provide a means for them to promote their primary business and at the same time eliminate the costs of their marketing efforts. The System will provide a means for them to make immediate income that they could use to Fund their costs of marketing.

Why ID Tags Are Really Great ?

Some people might jump the conclusion saying this is just another boring article about ID Tags.

I can assure you it's not.

ID Tags are one of the great inventions and it seems that they never get old. Maybe for some of us it's hard to believe, but they were worn at least as far back as ancient Sparta.

An ID Tag is the informal name for the identification tags worn by military personnel, but not only the army should wear these tags.

Suppose that one day, you get involved in an accident and loose your conscience. Who will be there to say that you are allergic to some medications? The ID Tags you are wearing. Maybe you don't care enough about yourself, but you will probably want to use an id tag for your kids. I mean, think about it, these pieces of metal can be real life savers.

Now let's imagine something more optimistic.

You want to give a very romantic present to your girlfriend but don't know exactly what? Hmm ... A teddy bear ? Come on, everybody does that, but you can do better. The tag will do the job again. Just choose the right shape and size and personalize it with words from your heart. Believe me, this kind of present will be noticed.

You can get a dog tag for your favorite pet. Write your full name and address on the tag and if he ever gets lost, the people who finds him will now how to send him back home.

ID tags are one of the best way to uniquely identify a sport team. No matter if we are talking about baseball, football or soccer, using a tag with an image as logo or meaningful words is the perfect way to reveal the team spirit and make its members proud to wear such a mark.

I knew a teacher who brought id tags for the entire class, just to show her appreciation to the little students. You can imagine their faces. They will never forget this moment.

And I can think of a lot more situations where an ID Tag can be very useful.

Not to mention that, some people are just being cooler wearing a tag. I'm really not the fashion type of guy, but this is the truth.

Now I think I've made my point clear.

ID Tags are really great and everybody can use them.

The place where you can find the largest variety of id tags, with the best engraving quality and over 300 images to choose from is www.yourdogtags.com .

The Domestic Ferret

How is the domestic ferret different from other kinds of ferrets? And do ferrets make good pets?

The domestic ferret is the most common breed of ferret in the world. These make good pets, as long as you can take care of them properly. It is necessary for anyone who will be purchasing a ferret to realize that they require a lot of work and attention. However, they do make for interesting pets, well suited for children as well as adults. The domesticated ferret is one which you can feel comfortable adding to your home. You simply have to be able to make the committment to meet its special needs.

There are other ferrets that are wild. These have been used for years to control the rabbit population in various countries. Yet, they are also banned in many countries because of how well efficiently destroy the ecology of the area. The Black-Footed ferret is one that is fighting its way back from extinction today. These non-domesticated ferrets do not make good pets, and should not be used as such.

On the other hand, there are many domesticated versions that are perfect to add to your home. These creatures live for about eight to ten years and will exhibit curiosity similar to a kitten that just won't grow up. The ferret is a creature that likes to get into things and play. It likes to explore its surroundings, so you will need to insure that your home, or any other areas that the ferret will be in, are safe for it.

There are many important things that you should realize about the ferret. Anyone who is looking for a pet that is full of energy and curiosity, that is somewhat different from the other animals, and that can provide the pet with a good home with lots of entertainment, should consider the ferret. Most people who have owned ferrets have enjoyed them, and would be willing to invite another one into their home.

So You Want to Save Some of Your Money

I have always wanted to start a magazine like the one I just found. Even have thought about doing a newsletter with the finds that I come across. This magazine has everything that I would include and a few extras.. The magazine is Arthur Frommer's' Smart Shopping and you can also go to www.smartshoppingmag.com.

They have an area in the magazine where people write in about ways to save money, places they've found and other advice. Now one of the letters was saying that there aren't a lot of places online that are easily found and I want to put this letter to its resting place. Here are a few that I frequent; The Frugal Shopper, Frugal Families, and finally FreeLanceByU.

Now with the last one, the lady that owns this site has been features in several articles plus on TV. I have found a lot of great deals like last year I found out that on a particular day IHop was giving away free pancake breakfast. I also found out about a special that was unadvertised that McDonalds had.

Now if you have some sort of medical need and you have an EBay account then look in the section for medical supplies. I am a diabetic and for awhile was on the insulin pump. Supplies can be quite expensive but I found a bunch of them on EBay and saved over 60% of my money. Now if you are selling on EBay then look at Surplus.net or liquidation.com. A lot of these stores that sell closeouts are finding their product on these 2 sites.

If you want a great deal on a computer or an accessory then visit ComputerGeeks.com. They are mainly a wholesale company but sell retail through the site I just gave you. If you resell software on EBay then look at nothingbutsoftware.com. Now if you have an email address then you need to sign up for GoogleAlerts. I have done this on 'saving money', 'frugal living',' Frugal shopping' and a few other terms.

Here's a great money saving tip for any site owner who to get listed on Yahoo without have to pay a few hundred dollars. Get a Yahoo account and on your site have RSS and have your site added to you Yahoo page. This will get Yahoo to crawl your site. This sites main page has a page rank of 4 but yet I never paid for any submission service. I think a lot has to do with the techniques I used to get crawled by the Search engines.. Another way is to do manual submission on the main directory sites. DMOZ is the directory that a lot of the search engines use and you can be listed just by suggesting your site.

Now some things about saving money are just common sense, like tonight my wife was talking about how she has until the end of the month to renew the tags on our Jeep but the DMV requires a legal Birth Certificate. Because she doesn't have this and has waited so long about trying to get one that we now have to pay so much extra for expedited service. Normally we would be looking at a cost of only about $12 but now it's going to cost us about $40 because of the rush. Common sense tells us that we should have either had a copy in a safe place or requested another one several months ago.

How To Build A Money Making Affiliate Website

An Affiliate Website is a site in which you sell other peoples E-products. You make money on commission.

example: you have created a web page on selling a Build Your Own Website Program. 10 people click on to your website and 1 of them buy the product. The cost of the Program is $40. The person selling the Product then turns around and pays you 50% which equals $20.

So you find a niche that suits you, improve your web site and offer more products. you sell 10 books a day at a commission of $20 a piece and that is $200 a day, $1400 a week, $6000 a month.

At this point you could afford to sit around and watch Young And The Restless all day or Keep moving forward and start Making Money Off Of Goggle Adsense, Take full advantage of Goggle Adwords, Create a Drop Shipping Business or even wholesale and become an E-Bay Power Seller.

How To:

Join an Affiliate Network.

Get someone to build you a web site or build your own. (building you own website can be very easy with the proper software). The site I have been using is XSite Pro. It is half the price of Dream Weaver, gives your more support and no html Knowledge needed.

Get a Free Domain Name. Free domain name for life a $29.99 value.

Look for a good deal on hosting. midphase is low cost with great support.

Choose your niche and enjoy starting your own business.

Affiliate websites can be one of the easiest and less expensive ways to make money online. Many of the top online marketing companys selling E-books offer free web sites. Christmas Presents for Pooches

Dogs are mans best friend, and as any dog owner will tell you, they really do become part of the family. This is probably why we can't leave the family dog out of the festivities at Christmas time. There are many of products on the market for dogs from doggie treat Christmas stockings, to Christmas theme food dishes, to Santa costumes to dress your dog up! Santa wrote a particular request asking people not to buy rubber Santa chew toys, because on Christmas eve when Santa is delivering presents, many dogs are looking a little too pleased to see him.

Why not take the time to make your best friend and extra special gift this Christmas, a Christmas sleigh bell dog collar.

All you need is...
A dog collar, bells, felt and glue.

The dog collar needs to be a fabric or woven type collar that can be stitched into. Choose a nice festive colour like red.

You can buy bells from craft shops or your local haberdashery. The larger the bell the more 'Sleigh bell' the ring of the bell will sound, and your pooch will sound like a reindeer prancing along. Small bells have a high pitch ring, ideal for small or lady like dogs, the delicate tinkle makes them sound like small Tinkerbell the fairy.

Adjust the collar to fit your dog comfortably.

Sew bells at regular intervals around one edge (the bottom edge). About 4 CMS is a good gap between bells.

If you are using small bells sew them on in clusters of two or three larger bells can be sewn on singularly.

The bells need sewing on firmly so that they don't come off. Your dog may try to eat them.

Cut out holly leaf shapes and berries from some felt and glue them into place between the bells. You could substitute the holly leaves for fabric Christmas tree bows for lady dogs.

A cute Christmas collar gift for your dog, which will make your pooch jingle festively on every walkies!

Do not leave the dog wearing the collar unattended.

Table Tennis Training Pushing Yourself Further In The Amazing Game Of Ping Pong

Ping pong is a fun and exciting game, and best of all, it is fairly easy that practically anyone can play it. However, since table tennis is a breeze to play a lot of people do not see the need to get proper training for it. This is okay if you just want to have some fun hitting the ball once in a while, but if you really want to be good in the game, then you really have to take table tennis training.

A lot of people are hesitant to undergo table tennis training since it is somewhat unusual. Most people do not view it like swimming lessons that a lot of kids really go through. But like any sport, table tennis training follows a flow of discipline. Here are some things you need to consider when you plan to take table tennis lessons:

1. Frequency the frequency of your table tennis training really depends on you on what your goal is, how much you can commit, your urge to improve, your schedule, your budget, among many others. But generally, if you want to improve your game you should have at least one training session each week, and then another session to play as well. Lessons are useless if you do not practice what you learn. But playing too much can also be counter productive. You have to carefully study your schedule and spell out how much you can devote for your table tennis training. Stick with the schedule you have set to ensure that you would be getting the most from your training.

2. Duration of the training how long you train is another consideration. It is usually recommended to train for just an hour to an hour and half like other kinds of sports. If you go longer than that, your concentration can suffer and you might even grow tired of the sport instead of loving it.

3. Training style the type of lesson really depends on your level as a table tennis player. If you are a beginner, you should have a good foundation on the technique for hitting the table with the ball. This sounds to be too basic a task, but it is the very foundation of table tennis and a lot of amateur players miss out on this one. Table training should be mastered really well for other techniques to be learned. This level of training decreases the chances of your hitting the ball into other directions.

Once you are able to ground yourself with table training you can work on the next most important strokes for your training. These include the backhand counterhit, the forehand counterhit, the backhand push, the forehand push, the serve, and the serve return. Without these things you cannot expect to move to the next, intermediate, level of table tennis playing.

You can also include in your table tennis training some of the fun stuff the tricks of the trade that make table tennis all the more exciting. This includes the lobbing, smashing, the forehand loop and the backhand loop. Soon enough you can mix these strokes up to give an impressive game.

4. Attitude no matter how much training you take for how long and what kind, you would not succeed in table tennis if you do not have the attitude to follow through. Table tennis is very much a mental sport as it is a physical sport. You mind has to be very active as everything happens quickly, even quicker than in most other types of sports.

The attitude is also very much important during table tennis training. You have to focus on what you are training for at a certain time. You should set your mind to learn the strokes, that you are practicing. You should also pay attention to your trainer or your training partner. You might have to take turns feeding balls to each other and when it is your turn be good at it as you would hitting the ball. You can learn from all aspects of training if you put your mind to it.

Table tennis training may not really be that important for most people. But if you really want to be good in this game, it is something that is inevitable for you to go through.

Dominant Dogs: Are You a Leader or a Follower?

You live with a predator.

He is not human.

He is armed with fangs for slashing flesh and molars for crushing bone. His jaw may exert nine hundred pounds per square inch of pressure. He has forty-two teeth in all.

His sense of smell is so powerful that we, with our human limitations, can barely comprehend. Our olfactory sense does not detect odors unless they are painfully obvious. The nose of this more efficient hunter collects and concentrates minute traces of scent until they create a mental picture more detailed than a visual image. When he smells the ground, he knows every thing that has passed within many, many hours, days even.

While our human eyes process a wealth of colorful detail, his eyes are specialized organs tuned to detect movement above all.

Aligned above his eyes and nose, aimed forward, preternatural ears detect frequencies and sound which easily escape us. Noises such as the softest rodent squeak beneath a thick blanket of snow do not evade him. The footfall of a stranger on an outside porch step does not escape his attention. He hears the breath of large prey even from a distance.

He is swift. The fastest of his kind can sprint at forty miles per hour, covering ten feet in a single bound.

He is agile and he is strong. He can crawl. He can jump. He has a high ratio of muscle to fat. He is an efficient predator. A carnivore designed to detect prey, catch it, to kill, to eat, to reproduce.

He is a social animal. Left to his own kind, he will live in a clearly organized pack led by a dominant male and a dominant female. Serious challenges to the social structure will be met swiftly and violently. Yet a strong survival and social instinct inhibits this killer from harming his own kind unless necessary to maintain order. Thus, he speaks a complex and rich language with which he can advertise his intentions. He assures his pack mates that he means no harm, but that he will defend his rank within the pack.

He is an animal. He is a predator. He is opportunistic. He understands social order, his place in that order, and lacking strong leadership from above, he is ready to assume control of his pack. He is ready to defend his pack from outsiders. And he is ready to protect it from social unrest within.

He is your dog.

He has forsaken life with his kind to inhabit your world. But he has not forsaken his nature. He retains his predatory nature. He remains a social animal. You and your family members are his pack mates. You are his leader.

Or he is yours.

Make no mistake about it. Your dog understands the hierarchy in his pack, the organizational flow chart if you will. He will yield to pack mates above him on the chart, but not below.

For example, if you give your dog a high value treat such as a meaty bone, can you take it away? Does your dog remove the bone and run away with it as soon as youve given it? That is a low level form of resource guarding behavior. Higher up on the scale is when your dog freezes and stiffens over the bone. In his language, your dog is very clearly stating an intention to guard the resource.

The only question is to what length he will go in order to retain it. Perhaps he is bluffing. If you reach in closer to touch the bone he may give it up. Or perhaps he will begin to growl, stiffening further over the treat, revealing his fangs. Whether he decides to bite you is a question determined not only by his perception of your ranking versus his, but also by the level of aggression he is willing to employ in defending this resource from you on this day.

If he is your leader, then he decides whether or not you touch the bone, and if that act will cost you an injury. If you are his leader, then when you make clear your intent to take the bone, he drops it into your hand without protest.

Dogs do not bite by accident. They decide. They choose. They make conscious decisions in a split second. If your dog permits you to take food and other valuable resources away and is willing to follow your direction, chances are good that he regards you as his leader. Therefore, he will give you all the privileges due your rank.

However, you may find that the dog does not treat all members of your family the same. If he respects you, but not your spouse or children, this can lead to serious problems. Be on the look out for ranking issues in the family.

If you find that your dog does not accept your leadership role, consider contacting us or another professional dog trainer to assist you. Not all dominant dogs are aggressive. Some dogs are very benign dictators who never bother to reinforce their rules upon you. But if your dog is the leader in your home, things can go wrong in this backward relationship.

The beauty of dog training is that, much like counseling, it can put the relationship back on track so the love affair can flourish.

Marc Goldberg is a dog trainer specializing in the rehabilitation of difficult dogs and improving relationships. Where's Your Retirement Money Invested?

Are you complaining about the high price for gasoline and the obscene profits of oil companies? If so, you might want to check your pension plan (401k, 403b, TSP, etc.) to see if you own their stock! Why would stockholders complain about profits at "their companies"? Could it be they're not aware they own stocks? This disconnect is because many workers and retirees put their money in employer-sponsored pension plans without really paying attention to where it's invested. It's going mostly into mutual funds whose underlying assets are stocks and bonds of domestic and foreign companies. Since many are unaware of where their money is invested, are they similarly unaware of the risk they're taking? Unfortunately, many are and this risk could spell big trouble over the horizon in retirement.

For those up to about age 50, this lack of attention to risk is not a major shortcoming because they have time on their side: time for market downturns to correct; time to increase contributions; time for the magic of triple compounding tax-deferral; time to adjust their savings/spending. Unfortunately, there is also time to develop habits that freeze them into their investment pattern. As you near or enter retirement, "time" becomes the enemy because there is not enough time for markets to correct, salaries to rise, and investment growth to occur. Yet, far too many, out of habit, still hold their retirement money in the same risky places. You must make lifecycle adjustments in your investments to lower risks as you near and enter retirement because there is less time to overcome setbacks. This hard lesson was most recently taught during 2000-2002. The previous stock market high was six years ago, or 30% of your retirement years ago. How long until we reach the previous high? The risk: no one knows!

At the end of 2005, approximately 90% of pension fund moneys were invested in assets whose value was determined by the financial markets - stocks, bonds, mutual funds and the like. According to one study, 39% of the 60 to 65 year old participants in 401(k) plans left their money in the plan upon retirement. What does this tell us? Many in their 60's and beyond are investing like they were still working and could afford the risk they're taking. Their do-it-as-always habit has prevented them from making the needed lifecycle investment changes. This could lead to their greatest fear: outliving their money.
The $14.5 trillion in pension plans is being eyed by Wall Street. They would like for you to put and leave your money in the market. That's why you don't get good advice from firms and people who manage and account for your retirement money: if you move it, they lose business. Accordingly, their answers regarding moving your retirement money to a safer place is always going to be "don't". It is in their best interest for you to keep it where it is. They're not taking the market risks that could wreck your retirement plans.

As has been stressed repeatedly, retirement is not a time to make money by taking risks but a time to keep what you've got by not taking risks. If you're in or near retirement, reduce risks by moving to safer places because you don't have time to recover from bad markets. The investment habits of a lifetime have prompted many to leave money in their employers' plans when they retire. This decision could be lethal if you can't afford the risk. The need to change investments in response to aging was well thought-out by our lawmakers as they provided for transfer of pension money so that risk could change in response to your lifecycle. The process is called "rolling over", and you should ask your financial advisor for my free DVD "Rolling Over Retirement Money: Good or Bad" which discusses the pros and cons of this topic.

Tips on How to Teach Your Kids to Save Money

A lot of teens nowadays do not understand the value of earning and spending money. They were not oriented that investing is necessary even if they are still students. As parents, you play a crucial role in this area.

You should be able to teach your kids on how to save money. They should be able to understand the concept of money and investment as early as childhood. This will prepare them to learn money management, as they grow old.

Here are some tips on how you can teach your children how to save money:

1. Your children should be educated of the meaning of money. Once your children have learned how to count, that is the perfect time for you teach them the real meaning of money. You should be consistent and explain to them in simple ways and do this frequently so that they may be able to remember what you taught them.

2. Always explain to them the value of saving money. Make them understand its importance and how it will impact their life. It is important that you entertain questions from them about money and you should be able to answer them right away.

3. When giving them their allowances. You need to give them their allowances in denominations. Then you can encourage them that they should keep a certain bill for the future. You can motivate them to do this by telling them that the money can be saved and they can buy new pair of shoes or the toys they want once they are able to save.

4. You can also teach them to work for money. You can start this at your own home. You can pay them fifty cents to one dollar every time they clean their rooms, do the dishes or feed their pets. This concept of earning little money will make them think that money is something they have worked for and should be spent wisely.

5. You can teach them to save money by giving them piggy banks where they can put coins and wait until they get full. You can also open bank accounts for them and let them deposit money from their allowance. You should always show them how much they have earned to keep them motivated.

Money and saving is not something that is learned by children in one sitting. You should be patient in teaching them and relating the value of money in all of their activities. Children will learn this easily if you are patient and consistent in guiding them and encouraging them in this endeavor.
